●Following a history as the original manufacturer of OEM windshields for these aircraft, PPG Aerospace has qualified its lightweight windshield for direct aftermarket sale to the benefit of operators. The unique composite windshield is the same PPG supplies to Bombardier for spares. As a Bombardier supplier, PPG is able to offer replacement transparencies that are upgraded to the latest design configuration.
●The windshield is a glass-faced polycarbonate-acrylic laminate, combining the toughness and chemical resistance properties of glass with the weight-saving benefits of plastic. Two polycarbonate main plies have a high strength-to-ratio and provide high impact resistance, while an acrylic inboard ply affords scratch resistance. Replacement windshields produced by PPG provide operators with outstanding optical properties and cost-effective performance
