The DF6808 is an advanced, 8-bit, MCU IP Core with highlysophisticated, on-chip peripheral capabilities. The DF6808 softcore is binary-compatible with the industry standardMotorola 68HC08 8-bit microcontroller. It can achieve aperformanceof 45 – 100 million instructions per second. TheDF6808 has a FAST architecture that is3.2 timesfaster comparing to the original implementation. In thestandard configuration the core has major peripheralfunctions integrated on-chip. The DF6808 Microcontroller Corecontains a full-duplex UART – Asynchronous SerialCommunication Interface (SCI) and Synchronous SerialPeripheral Interface (SPI). The main 16-bit, free-running timersystem has two input capture lines and two output-comparelines. Self-monitoring circuitry is included on-chip, to protectagainst system errors. The Computer Operating Properly(COP) watchdog system protects against software failures. Anillegal opcode detection circuit provides a non-maskableinterrupt if illegal opcode is detected. Two software-controlled power-saving modes – WAIT and STOP areavailable to preserve additional power. These modes makethe DF6808 IP Core especially attractive for automotive andbattery-driven applications. The DF6808 is fullycustomizable – it is delivered in the exact configuration tomeet your requirements. There is no need to pay extra forunused features and wasted silicon. It includes fullyautomated test bench with complete set of tests,allowing easy package validation, at each stage of SoC designflow. Each DCD’s DF68XX Core has a built-in support for aproprietary Hardware Debug System called DoCD™. It’sa real-time hardware debugger which provides debuggingcapability of a whole System-on-Chip (SoC). Unlike the otheron-chip debuggers the DoCD™ enables non-intrusivedebugging of a running application. It can halt, run, step intoor skip an instruction, read/write any contents ofmicrocontroller, including all registers, SFRs, including userdefined peripherals, data and program memories.
