In some cases, a device (DUT) or circuit-under-test may not be capable of handling continuous powerdelivery. Power over time usually adds heat to the DUT, damaging sensitive structures. Decreasing theduration of time a signal is on (pulse on time) can decrease the total power delivered to the DUT.
