Technical Explanations
●Characteristics are those values, which can be measured by use of suitable measuring instruments and set-ups, and provide information on the performance of the device under specified operating conditions (e.g. at a given bias). Depending on requirements, they are quoted either as typical or guaranteed values. Typical values are expressed as figures or as curves, and are subject to spreads.
●Guaranteed values are preceded either by the symbol> (greater than) or < (less than). Sometimes the guaranteed spread limits are indicated by numbers with dots between them.
●Maximum ratings are values which cannot be exceed-ed without risk of damaging the device. Changes in sup-ply voltage, tolerances of other components in the circuit and also ambient temperature must be considered. No single maximum rating must be exceeded, even if the device is operated well within all other maximum ratings. The inclusion of the word "admissible" in a description means that the associated curve defines the maximum rating.
●Using a semiconductor device continuously under extreme load (high temperature, current, voltage, mechanical stress etc) may reduce its reliability significantly even if the maximum ratings are not exceeded.
