This manual introduces the software configuration and management of the DA-682A-LX, which runs the Linux operating system. ■Linux is an open, scalable operating system that allows you to build a wide range of innovative, small footprint applications. Software written for desktop PCs can be easily ported to Linux embedded systems using the GNU cross compiler and a minimum of source code modifications. A typical embedded device running Linux is designed for a specific use, and is often either not connected to other computers, or is connected to a number of via a central, front-end host. Examples include enterprise tools such as industrial controllers, communications hubs, point-of-sale terminals, as well as display devices that include HMIs, advertisement appliances, and interactive panels.
