Freescale offers an all-in-one, pre-packaged solution to the equipment manufacturers of residential gateways, DSL/cable modems, wireless access points and IADs. The VortiQa platform for SOHO/RGs is an integrated software suite. It includes bridging, routing, WAN protocol support, wireless connectivity, stateful inspection firewall with URL blocking, and IPsec VPN.
The VortiQa software enables equipment manufacturers to keep up with the latest features required in gateway devices. In addition, equipment manufacturers will be able to reduce development and QA cycles, accelerate time-to-market, and improve time-to-money. The VortiQa software for SOHO/RGs is a comprehensive software solution for devices designed to protect a home or small office network from external and internal threats.
●The key features of the SOHO/residential gateway components are:
■Network protocols: IP, TCP, UDP, ICMP, ARP, DHCP server, IGMP proxy, NTP, dynamic DNS, UPnP, DNSrd, bridging, QoS (bandwidth reservation) and routing
■WAN interface: PPPoE, DHCP client and PPTP for internet connectivity
■LAN interface: wired Ethernet, DHCP server, 802.11a, b, g, n wireless support and 802.1x based wireless security. Wireless support is taken from wireless chip/card vendor-provided software drivers.
■Firewall: provides NAT, stateful inspection firewall
■VPN: IPsec, IKE
■Management: easy-to-use, web-based configuration
