PC series Ceramics for Printed Circuit Boards
■The four sub-divisions in this series are:
●PC: our standard P.C. mount resistor
●PCLV: the PC at extremely low values
●PCM: this resistor incorporates a metalic fused element
●PCV: A PC type in a vertical mounting bracket
■The PCV type of resistor allows the designing engineer to dissipate large amounts of power in a very small amount of "real estate". By mounting these parts vertically you gain in the air flow around the part and the bracket acts as a heat sink. Each of these combine in giving greater power carrying capacity with less ambient temperature rise in the circuit enclosure. Mounted vertically, the part uses less than 25% of the board space it would normally require if it were horizontal. The tab design allows for quick insertion, protection from vibration and shock and it provides for an automatic standoff.
