Leviton Lampholders now have official T-Ratings from UL: New ratings apply to all Leviton thermoplastic linear fluorescent and compact fluorescent lampholders.
■Leviton is the first lampholder manufacturer to receive official T Ratings from UL for its thermoplastic linear fluorescent and compact fluorescent lampholders. Lampholder manufacturers have been marking their products with T-Ratings without recognition or certification by UL. To verify T-Ratings, you can view the UL certification directory online and search by the manufacturer's file number. UL has issued a bulletin to the industry indicating that lampholder manufacturers who mark or advertise their products with a T-Rating and a UL Mark must either remove the T-Rating, situate it in such a way that it is not associated with the UL mark, or have UL conduct an investigation to verify the rating.
■Lampholders that do not carry a UL-issued T-Rating are considered by UL to be generically rated maximum 90C. The higher T-Rating allows the lampholder to be used in applications where temperatures higher than 90C may be encountered. Leviton's T-Ratings have been published on the public UL website under our file number E5833, and the actual T-Ratings for our most popular catalog numbers are provided in the following chart.
