Application Note: Adjusting the Compensation Setting of the Leviton VGA Extender

●The Leviton 41910-V01 is the perfect solution for extending VGA video up to 100 Meters via a single category cable. After setting up the system it is imperative to adjust the compensation control on the receiver to obtain the best results. Different category cable lengths and types require different amounts of compensation to get the best video quality.
●To do this you must have the system up and running with a static video picture showing on the display. A spreadsheet works very well for this type of work. You will need a small philips or slot screwdriver to adjust the control knob. Start with the control knoball the way counter-clockwise. Look for smearing on the right hand side of vertical lines. You can see this in Figure 1 below. Slowly turn the control knob clockwise until the smearing disappears and the image looks crip.
