Bourns Releases New Surge Protective Devices (SPDs) Hardwired AC Hybrid Surge Protective Devices (H-SPDs) Model 1251 and 1252 Series
●Bourns is pleased to announce the release of the Model 1251 and 1252 Heavy Duty AC Surge Protectors. The Model 1251 Series is a high performance Type 1 Hybrid SPD designed to be installed on the line side of the main service disconnect. The Model 1252 is a high performance Type 2 Hybrid SPD designed to be installed on the load side of the main service disconnect. Both series are designed for either 120/208 Three-Phase Wye or Single Phase 120/240 VAC circuits. The Model 1252 Series also includes filtering for noise mitigation.
●The Bourns® Hybrid SPD (H-SPD) designs combine the technologies of a Metal Oxide Varistor (MOV) and a Gas Discharge Tube (GDT) to provide fast-acting and low leakage performance over the life of the SPD. Rated at 50 kA on a single 8/20 μs surge, the Bourns® Model 1251 and 1252 Series are designed for either indoor or outdoor installation. Wiring options include a 20 inch, 12 gauge wiring stub that exits either the right side or rear of the protector.
●In the unlikely event of a failure condition, both series are designed with thermal disconnection safety features as well as visual and audio indicators. All Model 1251 and 1252 Series products are listed to UL1449
