uEZGUI-1788-43WQ# Family Product Change Notification Form
●Reason for Change: The MMA7455L accelerometer previously used in this uEZGUI has been discontinued by Freescale(see attached Product Discontinuance Notice). Modifications to the backlight voltage generator diode and crystal oscillator PCB footprint were incorporated for better performance and to better match new manufacturer recommendations. FDI believes these product enhancements may result in improved manufacturing yields.
●Detailed Description of Change:
■The accelerometer (U14) has been changed froma Freescale MMA7455L to an ST Micro LIS3DH. The LIS3DH accelerometer has improved user-selectable scales of ±2g/±4g/±8g/±16g and is capable of measuring accelerations with output data rates from 1 Hz to 5 KHz.The LIS3DH allows for a wider operating voltage range of 1.71V to 3.6V.
The LIS3DH is an LGA footprint and operates over an extended temperature range from -40 °C to +85 °C.
■The LIS3DH uses a new I2C address.All documentation for the products affected have been updated to reflect this change. The uEZ software driver for the accelerometer has been updated to version 2.07b to support the LIS3DH and is compatible at the API level.Customer application firmware should not be affected by this change. Autodetection of the accelerometer by the uEZ driver for correct driver load is an added benefit of using a unique I2C address.
■The backlight voltage generator(D1)changed from ZHCS400 to DFLS160-7. The new part is rated for 60V and 1A versus the old part which was rated for 40V and 500mA.
■Per new recommended manufacturer specifications, the 32.768 KHz crystal (Y3) PCB footprint has been updated for 1.5mm between pads,pad width of 1.0mm and pad length of 1.8mm
