MOST NetServices Compatibility Survey V1.x / V2.x Application Note

2021-10-27
This document summarizes all interoperability issues in respect to MOST devices using different MOST NetServices versions within one and the same MOST System.
This document deals with differences between MOST NetServices versions from the system’s point of view. It accounts for versions from V1.09.03 up to the latest available service release for version 1.10.x (V1.10.x-SR), new versions for INIC devices (NS V2.x), and it takes also the service release for MOST NetServices version 1.09.x into consideration (V1.09.x-SR).
To get more details, with focus on the application’s perspective, please refer to the current history files of the MOST NetServices API and the current API manuals.
New introduced FBlock functions (i.e., methods and properties), which are part of MOST NetServices (e.g., NetBlock and FBlock ET), are not under the scope of this document. Please refer to the history file of MOST NetServices Layer II to retrieve the information, when a certain FBlock function has been introduced (i.e., due to MOST Function Catalog conformance).
Modifications on existing FBlock functions are also not topic of this document, as long as the modifications are backward compatible. To be notified about changes on existing FBlock functions please refer also to the history file of MOST NetServices Layer II.
All mentioned version numbers refer to original released MOST NetServices versions. Any relevant changes which are introduced by bug fixes (listed in any MOST NetServices Errata Sheet) and which might have impact on the behavior from the system perspective are listed in section 20.
