China government regulations on reducing the number of VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds)

Würth Elektronik eiSos GmbH & Co. KG has recently been aware of a new China government regulations on reducing the number of VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) in coatings, inks, adhesives, and cleaning agents.
GB30981-2020 Limit of harmful substances of industrial protective coatings, effective from Dec 1st, 2020;
GB33372-2020 Limit of volatile organic compounds content in adhesive, effective from Dec 1st, 2020;
GB38507-2020 Limits of volatile organic compounds in printing ink, effective from Apr 1st, 2021;
GB38508-2020 Limits for volatile organic compounds content in cleaning agents, effective from Dec 1st, 2020.
It has a large impact on the supply chain as there is very little time to make sure the compliance status. At this time, we are communicating with our suppliers or sub-suppliers to take the following actions:
For the materials impacted by the regulations, compliance status will be confirmed and proof data will be collected from the relative suppliers;
For those materials possible not compliant, suppliers will be required to phase them out and build up the new materials inventory.
Till now, the deadline of completion is not decisive. However, we will try our best to finish it before the effective date.
