Upgrade of Snap-in Type Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors KHE Series
Nippon Chemi-Con has upgraded snap-in type aluminum electrolytic capacitors KHE Series, used for power input filtering. These capacitors downsize and slim switching power supplies and general-purpose inverters.
Snap-in type aluminum electrolytic capacitors are mainly used for switching power supplies and power supply filter circuits of general-purpose inverters. To respond to demand for smaller and more space-saving devices, we released ultracompact products KHE Series in January 2020.
However, the demand in markets for smaller and more space-saving power supply devices is increasing. Downsizing of aluminum electrolytic capacitors, which are passive components, is an ongoing issue.
Therefore, we continued development of upgraded products of the KHE Series with the aim of further downsizing.
The rated voltage and sizes of the upgraded KHE Series are unchanged, with 400 V to 450 V and φ25.4 x 25 L to φ30 x 60 L (mm). The capacitance range is 210μF to 1100μF and the capacitance per volume is higher than that of the conventional KHE Series by up to 19%.
In this development, various new materials are used to maintain the basic performance of the conventional KHE Series while increasing capacitance and further improving reliability.
