MAK–4237–3 Magnetic Reed Switch Type series MA–42 Technical Data Sheet

2022-08-01

●Functional Description:
■The MÜZ–102/24–Um central monitoring unit evaluates the signals supplied by the sensor. It contains two relays with positive–action contacts and an evaluation circuit with two timer modules. One relay (K1) is operated by the make contact, the other (K2) by the break contact of the sensor.
■The normally open contacts of the relay are connected in series. In addition, the normally closed contact of the changeover relay (K1) is also available.
■Note: This additional contact “76” is not suitable for safety–related applications.
■When both relays pick up, the output terminals (71, 74) are conductively connected. The circuit status of the relays is indicated by LED’s. The coded magnetic switch MAK–4237–3 belongs to this Monitoring System.
■The two relays are in de–energised out status when they are not actuated. When the magnetic system approaches the position switch, first one of the reed contacts is activated and a relay energises. Now the second reed contact must also be activated within a certain time (approx. 0.3 secs.) for the second relay to energise. After this time has elapsed, the second relay can no longer energise. This switching principle allows faults such as contact welding and cable break to be recognised reliably. The circuit resets when the two reed contacts return to the deactivated position.
■Since both reed contacts do not switch simultaneously, there is a minimum start–up speed of the magnetic system for switching on. In order to ensure reliable switching, the distance between the switch–off point (sab) and the switch–on point (san) should be covered in 0.3 secs. at most.
■The MÜZ–102/24–Um is suitable for mounting on TS 35 mounting rails in control cabinets. If several central monitoring units are to be mounted beside each other, then the line voltage can be connected through from the terminals “AC out” to “AC in” (for a maximum of 6 units).
