UKCA Marking
What is the UKCA marking?
The UK (UK Conformity Assessed) marking is a new UK product marking that is used for goods being placed on the
market in Great Britain (England, Wales and Scotland). It covers most goods which previously required the CE
marking.
When is the UKCA marking required from?
The UKCA marking came into eff ect on 1 January 2021. However, to allow businesses time to adjust to the new
requirements, you will still be able to use the CE marking until 1 January 2022 in most cases.
Can the UKCA marking be used to sell products to the EU?
The UKCA marking is not recognised on the EU market. Products need a CE marking for sale in the EU.
What does the UKCA marking looks like?
Which Eaton’s Bussmann series products will now require the UKCA marking?
Eaton is adding the UKCA marking on all its Low voltage fuse links and their relevant carton labels.
Due to size constraints, the UKCA marking has to be a minimum of 5 millimetres high, we might not be able to print
the UKCA marking on the fuse links’ body or fuse labels but on the packaging only.
Will the UKCA marking aff ect the technical characteristics of the Eaton’s Bussmann fuse links?
No the technical characteristics willl not be aff ected by this new marking.
Can I still use Eaton’s Bussmann series fuse links without the UKCA marking?
Yes, this does not apply to existing stock with the CE mark only.
