Technical Note TN007 - Instant Access to Life Cycle and Obsolete Product
Data Online for TT Electronics Resistors
Introduction
TT Electronics is committed to supporting our customers in managing obsolescence throughout the lifetime of their
products. To this end, life cycle data is given on all parts, and basic data and datasheets for obsolete parts are retained
indefinitely. This information may be accessed from the information page for individual product types, which is reached by
one of two methods:
1. Entering part numbers or keywords in the Product Data Search box (top left on all main resistor pages). This
method will include any relevant obsolete products in the results.
2. Entering parameters on the search page http://www.ttelectronics.com/resistors/parts-search. Since it is
primarily aimed at designers, this method will exclude obsolete products from the results.
Information Page
The information page includes a Life Cycle tab which details the following information for the selected product type:
• Series, type, description and datasheet link
• Product brand (BI Technologies, IRC or Welwyn)
• Life cycle status (growth, mature, decline, NRND or obsolete)
• Dated estimate of years to end of life which is reviewed at least annually, and is a maximum of 5
• Link to PCN(s) if any, with multiple PCNs being combined into a single PDF
• Alternative close equivalent part if any
• Download link for an Excel matrix showing life cycle data for all products

NRND and Obsolete Products
NRND and obsolete products are clearly identified as such in the product description and on the datasheet. Obsolete
products can only be found by entering partial part number in Product Data Search, and the information page has only
Basic and Life Cycle tabs. The EOL estimate date shows the actual year of obsolescence.
Life Cycle Queries
Life cycle queries will be dealt with as quickly as possible, but for the majority of cases
information may be obtained immediately and directly from our online database, as
described.
If you require further assistance, please use the enquiry form and select Life cycle. This will
then be is routed to the relevant team and will prevent the delay caused by the need to re-
route emails to the correct person.
