SENSOR
Microbats generate ultrasound via the larynx and
emit the sound through the nose or open mouth: from
14,000 to over 100,000 hertz, well beyond the range
of the human ear. The emitted vocalizations form a
broad beam of sound used to probe the environment,
as well as communicate with other bats.
The MLX75026 QVGA is the second member of the third generaon of fully
integrated opcal me-of-ight (ToF) sensors. It is backward compable with
the MLX75027 VGA resoluon ToF sensor.
Target applicaons include automove driver monitoring
(DMS), in-cabin monitoring (ICM), exterior cocooning as well as
robocs, autonomous transport (AGVs), people and 3D object
detecon in industry, retail, logiscs and smart cies.
In automove interior sensing use cases, while one VGA
resoluon sensor covers the full interior of a car, the
MLX75026 QVGA ToF sensor oers a similar resoluon for
single-seat areas e.g. for driver monitoring, body posion,
occupancy classicaon, etc.
The sensor features a QVGA (320x240) pixel array and comes
in a small package size and small ¼” opcal format.
Its full compability with the VGA ToF sensor highly facilitates
the reuse of exisng soware, which eases migraon paths
between cost-eecve QVGA and more high-end VGA
soluons.
The EVK75026 evaluaon kit is available to evaluate the
MLX75026 QVGA ToF sensor.
