Subject: RO4730JXR™ Laminates Discontinuation
Dear Valued Customer,
Rogers ACS will be discontinuing RO4730JXR™ Laminates. The growth of active antennas in
the base station market has driven a requirement for flame retardant materials. The subsequent
decline in volumes for the JXR grade has been sharp, and this has also driven a rise in raw
material costs. Rogers has successfully sourced and qualified a next generation replacement for
RO4730JXR™ laminates with our newly launched RO4730G3™ R2 laminates. These laminates
are UL rated and have a more robust hollow sphere supplier to improve PTH appearance
through a smaller sphere size distribution profile.
With the raw material changes, we have determined that the performance is equivalent and in
line with the high quality products customers are used to receiving. Please refer to the attached
qualification report for additional details.
Based on current demand, we have sufficient inventory of the original raw materials to last until
November 1
st
, 2020. The original RO4730JXR laminate product, therefore, will be available for
purchase as long as inventory remains for this raw material OR until November 1
st
, 2020,
whichever comes first.
Rogers Corporation can provide samples of the raw material replaced version for your
evaluation. To discuss this change and/or to order a sample of the new version of the material,
