The following information is in regards to Lumileds’ implementation of the European
REACH regulation for articles governing product components, sub-assemblies, and
substances like chemicals, mixtures or preparations.
Lumileds and the REACH Regulation
Lumileds supports the objectives of REACH to further improve the European Union’s
regulation on chemicals, including the objective to advance public health and safety
while protecting the environment.
Information on SVHC and restricted substances
Lumileds has investigated all of its raw materials and supplied parts relative to Annex
XVII and Substances of Very High Concern, (SVHC), and determined that these
substances are not incorporated into any of our processes or products above
threshold concentrations.
Please note however, that the European Chemicals Agency, (ECHA), will regularly
update the Candidate List of SVHC, and that exploration by SVHCs in Lumileds’
products is an ongoing process which Lumileds’ suppliers are also involved in. The
attached declaration is the current list based on the available information Lumileds
has at this time. However, because of the continued ECHA diligence it may not be an
exhaustive list. As the information from ECHA is updated, Lumileds will continue to
evaluate raw materials and products for compliance.
Furthermore Lumileds confirms that it complies with all relevant marketing and use
restrictions pursuant article 67 of REACH. Relevant restrictions have been included in
the Lumileds Restricted Substances List:

REACH DECLARATION
Under REACH Regulation Article 3, 6 and 7, Lumileds is a manufacturer of ARTICLES.
The declaration below relates to all solid state light emitting products

and related
packaging manufactured either by Lumileds, or through all subcontract
manufacturers. Although the manufacturing of the relevant article / chemical may be
outside of the EU, Lumileds is a European Company, headquartered in the
Netherlands and will take the responsibility for REACH compliance accordingly.
1. Lumileds confirms that we understand our obligations under REACH.
2. Where the manufacturing of a chemical substance takes place outside the EU,
Lumileds will ensure that you, our customer, does not need to act as the
importer under REACH.
3. The articles manufactured by Lumileds do NOT release substances under
normal or reasonable foreseeable conditions of use.
4. Lumileds products and packaging do not contain substances in concentrations
greater than 0.1% w/w as listed in Annex XVII within REACH in accordance
with the conditions of restriction.
5. Lumileds products and packaging do not contain substances on the list of
“Substances of Very High Concern” as published by ECHA on October 28,
2008 and updated on July 16, 2019.

refer to the ECHA website for the most recent information:

6. We confirm that we comply with all relevant marketing and use restrictions
