LR Series RF modules are ideal for the wireless transfer of serial data, remote
control, and command information in the favorable 260-470MHz band. Thanks
to advanced synthesized architectures, the RF transmitter and receiver form a
reliable wireless link capable of transferring data at rates of up to 10,000bps
over distances of up to 1.5 miles (2,500m) depending on implementation.
The LR Series consists of separate single channel On-Off Key (OOK) RF
transmitter and RF receiver. There is no processor or protocol embedded inside
the modules, so no configuration or programming is required. The modules
contain just the physical radios, so all protocol functions are handled outside
the module. This allows the designer to create a system that is specifically
tuned for the application, with no extra overhead, power consumption or cost
above what is absolutely necessary.
High Performance: The modules have a crystal-controlled synthesized
architecture to give them high stability over time and temperature. This gives
the modules great range and reliability.
Designed for Regulatory Compliance: The LR Series is offered in the 260 to
470MHz band. This band is allocated for remote control applications and short
range data transfers. This includes 433.92MHz, which is a frequency that is
allowed in many countries. This gives the manufacturer the option to build one
product and sell it around the world.
Small Size: At 0.36" x 0.50" (9.14mm x 12.7mm) and 0.812 x 0.63” (20.6mm
x 16.0mm) the modules are small enough to fit into most handheld products.
No Tuning: The modules are matched to 50-ohms and fully tested, so no
tuning or external RF components are required.
Low Power: Linx designed the LR Series with battery-powered applications
in mind, so its power consumption has been highly optimized. A power down
features give the designer complete control over the module.
Simple Implementation: The data presented to the transmitter is used to
directly modulate the carrier. There is no microcontroller or registers to program
or configure. Simply input the digital data and it is sent.
Transparent Interface: The module has a transparent interface, so the module
does not alter or encode the data in any way. This frees the designer to create
a protocol that is most efficient for the application.
Fast Data Throughput: The LR Series is capable of 10kbps data throughput
for digital data. This allows battery-powered applications to send data quickly
then power down to conserve battery life.
