DESCRIPTION
TheFirecommsDCto10MBdRedLink®transmitter
isbasedonthehighlyreliableFirecommsdesigned
Resonant Cavity Light Emitting Diode (RCLED)
technology.
It is housed in a nonconducting plastic RedLink®
connector.The10MBdtransmitterisgrayincolour.
ThehousingsarecompatiblewiththeVersatileLink
style fiber
plug and are optimized for use with
PlasticOpticFiber(POF)andPlasticCladSilica(PCS).
Thetransmitter can be driven from TTLtypelogic
drivers.Itoperatesovertheindustrialtemperature
range of‐40⁰C to +85⁰C, supporting many
industrialapplicationswherereliablecommandand
control response is
required in electrically harsh
environments.
Thetransmitterusesalargecurrentaperture(150
μmdiameter)red(650nm)eyesafe RCLED based
on InGaP/InGaAlP/GaAs technology. It operates
over a wide range of drive current that can be
adjustedusingaserialresistortominimizecurrent
consumptionforagivenlink
distance.
