DESCRIPTION
TheFirecommsDCto5MBdRedLink®transmitteris
based on the highly reliable Firecomms designed
Resonant Cavity Light Emitting Diode (RCLED)
technology.
It is housed in a noncon ducting plastic RedLink®
connector.The5MBdtransmitterisgreyincolour.
ThehousingsarecompatiblewiththeVersatileLink
style fiber
plug and are optimized for use with
PlasticOpticFiber(POF)andPlasticCladSilica(PCS)
fiber.
Thetransmitter can be driven from TTLtypelogic
drivers.Itoperatesovertheindustrialtemperature
range of‐40⁰C to +85⁰C, supporting many
industrialapplicationswherereliablecommandand
control response
is required in electrically harsh
environments.
Thetransmitterusesalargecurrentaperture(150
μmdiameter)red(650 nm)eyesafeRCLED based
on InGaP/InGaAlP/GaAs technology. It operates
over a wide range of drive current that can be
adjustedusingaserialresistortominimizecurrent
consumptionforagiven
linkdistance.
