Adjusting the Press
The Lid Press Z stop position can be adjusted in the increments listed in the table above:
The Knob is secured with (2) #2-56 to the threaded rod below, it also has (2) dowel pins that
makes easy alignment of the knob to the threaded rod. The rod interfaces with the press plate
pushing it down as the knob is rotated to the Closed or Test position.
Adjusting Down:
If the device is not being pushed down enough to get reliable contact then a down adjustment
of the press should be made.
Rotate the knob to the CLOSED position
Remove the two screws
Pull the knob straight up and rotate it counter clockwise to the next set of holes in the
threaded rod.
Reinsert and secure with the (2) screws
This will now allow the incremental Z height change, listed in the table, downward when
in the new closed position

Adjusting Up:
If the press/device is bottoming out before reaching the closed position then an adjustment up
should be made
Rotate the Knob to the OPEN positon
Remove the (2) screws and Knob
Turn the knob CLOCKWISE to the next set of holes in the threaded rod
Reinsert and secure with the (2) screws
This will now allow the incremental Z height change, listed in the table, upward when in
the new closed position
Repeat the steps above if an additional up or down amount of Z height position is required
Rotate Knob to Open or Closed
position depending on
adjustment up or down needed-
Remove (2) Screws
Note: Variation in Knob designs
also exist; protrusions top or

Pull Knob Straight up
Note: alignment pins allow for
adjustment without using

Before reinserting knob turn
clockwise or counter clockwise

Reinsert knob to the next hole
position – alignment pins will
position knob into set of holes
in the Press Screw
Reinsert the (2) screws to
secure Knob to the Press Screw
Turn Knob to the new Closed
position and test to ensure New
Press position allows testing of
your device…
Repeat these steps as need until
the Closed position allows
proper testing
