Quality control and quality assurance (QA/QC) represents a
critical phase of electrical manufacturing process, but it is
not without its hazards. However, QA/QC workers in the
both the solar energy and electric motor manufacturing
sectors now enjoy a greater level of safety by taking ad-
vantage of true negative voltage. True negative voltage is
a state created by reverse polarity when polarity is nega-
tive in relation to the earth’s ground. While reverse polarity
poses a potential electrical shock hazard in a manufactur-
ing or operational environment, true negative voltage is
comparatively safe for electrical equipment operators
shown in Figure 1. In addition to improving safety, test
equipment utilizing true negative voltage more accurately
recreates real-world conditions for greater efficiency in
testing, which is why industry standards now call for using
true negative voltage in quality testing.
