WA RNING: TO PREVENT IGNITION OF FLAMMABLE OR COMBUSTABLE ATMOSPHERES, DISCONNECT
POW ER FRO M THE SYSTEM PRIOR TO INST ALLATION OR SERVICE.
CAUTI ON: Installation must comply with all national, state, and local codes. Installation of this equipment should only
be perf ormed by personnel trained in i ntr insically saf e systems. Im proper install ation m ay result i n serious
inj ury or damage. Bef ore proceedi ng with i nstallati on, read and under stand these i nstructi ons com pletely .
The ISS-100 Isolat ed Swi tch i s UL913 listed as an associ ated apparatus f or i nterf acing between hazardous a nd non-
hazardous areas. The IS S-100 m ust be i nstalled i n a non-hazardou s area. Follow SymCom’s Control Drawi ng ISS-100 on
the back of thi s sheet f or proper installation.
All wi ring connect ed to a hazardous l ocati on m ust be separated fr om all non-i ntrinsicall y saf e wiri ng. Descri ption of special
wi ri ng m ethods can be f ound i n the National Electrical Code ANSI /NFPA 70, Articl e 504 Intrinsicall y Saf e Systems. Check
your state and l ocal codes f or additional requi rements.
WAR NING : REMOVE POWER FROM THE SYSTEM PRIOR TO INSTALLING OR SERVICING THE ISS-100.
Installation:
1. Mount the ISS-100 in a non-hazardous location on 35mm DIN rail , or by installing two #6-#8 screws into the
s urface mounting holes provided.
2. Connect wiring per SymCom’s Control Drawing ISS-100. Follow all hazardous code requirements while installing
wiri ng to swi tch i nput termi nals.
Operation:
The ISS-100 rel ay i s powered wi th 115VAC and i s designed as an isolated swi tch sui tabl e f or appl ications with switc h
inputs in a hazardous l ocati on. In a powered stat e, the ISS-100 wi ll close i ts output relay when the input swi tch i s cl osed.
The green LED on the cover wi ll illumi nate when the relay i s energi zed and exti ngui sh when the relay i s de-energi zed.
