outputport,thisunique,independentmoduledesignprovidessuperiorporttoportisolationperformance.Byeliminatingthesingle
pointoffailurethattypicallyoccurswithonepieceelectronicsassemblies,
themoduleminimizesserviceinterruptions.
Themodulecontainsallforwardandreturnpathdiplexfilteringwithinthenode,soupgradingreturnpathupperedgefrom42 to 85
MHzisassimpleasreplacingthemodule.Themodule’sforwardpathusesGalliumNitride(GaN)technologytodeliverthehigherRF
outputlevelsrequired
tosupportfiberdeepmigration.AnintegratedJXPstylepadattenuatorandRFtestpointenabletechnicians
toeasilymonitorandchangeforwardlevels.NodestationoutputslopeisgeneratedpartlybytheFlatnessandSlopeBoard(FSB)
containedwithintheRFmodule.Thereturnpathfeaturesa‐20dBRF
testpointfollowedbyaJXPstylepadattenuator.AnIngress
ControlSwitch(ICS)allowstechnicianstooperatetheICSlocallyusingtheSG4000EmbeddedPluginModule(EPIM)orremotely
usingtheDOCSISstatusmonitortransponder.Finally,aReturnPathLowPassFilter(RPLPF)providesadditionalattenuationof
forward
pathenergyatthetransmitterinput.
