Compliance Statement to the Five PBTs
under US EPA TSCA for its semiconductor
products in brand ams and OSRAM
In January 6, 2021, the United States Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA), as required under
the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), published five final rules to reduce exposure to certain
chemicals that are persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic (PBT). The Final rules for each of the five PBTs
was effective in February 5, 2021.
We, upon review of the material composition and declaration forms (MDF) and based on the best
available information provided by our suppliers, declare that our products do not contain any of the
five PBTs above the legal threshold limits.
More facts on the uses and risk management, and final rules for the PBT Chemicals can be viewed here:
- Persistent, Bioaccumulative, and Toxic (PBT) Chemicals under TSCA Section 6(h)
- Final rule for decabromodiphenyl ether (DecaBDE)
- Final rule for phenol, isopropylated phosphate (3:1) (PIP (3:1)
- Final rule for 2,4,6-Tris(tert-butyl)phenol (2,4,6-TTBP)
- Final rule for hexachlorobutadiene (HCBD)
- Final rule for pentachlorothiophenol (PCTP)
We continue to monitor our semiconductor products and the supply chain for the requirements posed
by the regulation. For other inquiries, please visit our webpage: (ams OSRAM Semiconductor
