PRODUCT CHANGE NOTIFICATION

EPM7064 and EPM7064S ADDITIONAL SOURCE OF SUPPLY

For continuity of supply, Altera will add Sharp as an alternate source for all EPM7064 and

EPM7064S devices. This notification addresses Altera’s intent to supply EPM7064 and

EPM7064S die from either Sharp or TSMC.

Altera will begin supplying die for the EPM7064 and EPM7064S product lines from Sharp on

May 15, 2000. After this date, Altera may use either Sharp die or TSMC die in EPM7064 and

EPM7064S devices.

The Sharp process may be distinguished by the second (β

β), fourth, and fifth (αα

αα) digit

characters of the Altera lot number, which is marked on the backside of the device, or by the

characters preceding the Altera date code, which are marked on top of the device.
