Solder Reflow Recommendations

Figure 1 shows Ohmcraft’s recommended profiles for Pb-free devices. The terminations on these
devices are plated with matte Tin (pure Sn) and contain no lead. They can be used in standard tin-
lead (SnPb) applications, using a solder reflow profile that is equal to or above the blue line in the
plot, or in Pb-free solder with profiles up to and including the red line on the plot.
Figure 2 shows Ohmcraft’s recommended profiles for standard devices with 63%/37% tin-lead
(SnPb) solder terminations. The solder reflow profile for these devices can be anywhere between
the blue and red lines shown in Figure 2. It is important to note that the peak temperature is lower
than that of the Pb-free devices.
